'Thesis’ palindromic landscapes: presents primary, working drawings and ideas exploring the concept of
palindromic landscapes viewing personally acquainted locations both subjectively and objectively from
diametrically opposite viewpoints, recording both physical and sensory conditions and states within
particular landscape environments. 'Antithesis’ landscape as palimpsest: parallels 'thesis' presenting
contrasting interpretations to specific landscapes and locations visited through different witnesses, eras,
mediums and intentions, including works by Claude Monet (Pourville, France, 1880's) William Henry Millais
(Lynton, N. Devon, 1857) and W.C. Crawford (Sound of Iona, Isle of Mull, 1930's) and with text written by Giles
Sutherland, a contemporary response to the area on Mull. 'Synthesis’ the culmination of these landscape
investigations produced in conjunction with the exhibition tideedit2: palindromic landscapes and artists’
books, at An tobar, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, Scotland, Sep 2004 and March 2005. Port nan Ron (Bay of the Seals),
Isle of Mull, Scotland; the Valley of the Rocks near Lynton, North Devon; the beaches and cliffs near Pourville,
Normandy, France.
