The Annual Horror Story Writing Club’s Summer
Convention Ends Successfully
Sarah Bodman, UK
I have loved
reading horror stories since I was a child, from early encounters
with the violence and cruelty in the collected Grimm
brothers’ tales, moving on to
Stephen King’s
The Shining,
or Salem’s Lot,
or David Seltzer’s
The Omen. The
Passage by Justin
Cronin, or The
House of Leaves by Mark
Z. Danielewski, I could go on forever…
I love horror movies just as much, and my favourite print at home
is a comedy précis of the plot of The
Evil Dead, which still makes me smile
every time I read it each morning and evening.
So, my bookmark is a tribute to all the great books and movies
I have read and watched; often starting with “The”
and nearly always containing the raising of undead armies and
evils to cabins and campsites in the woods (luckily for us).
