| The design of this bookmark
attempts to use a similar language to that of a book, creating a more relevant
relationship between the book and the bookmark. Like a book it uses folded
paper and words, is interactive and extends into 3-dimensional space. Based on my experience, bookmarks are usually random oddments of paper that are always getting lost. To overcome this the design of the bookmark extends to become a box. As well as being a useful storage container for knick-knacks, taking the form of an object rather than a piece of paper, it can be more easily located when needed as a marker of a page in a book. |
