My practice includes use of blind emboss and digital print to form images of objects that we hold to be important. This importance
may be connected to aspiration or memory. Visual lists are composed, collections catalogued and the real and ideal are compared.
Here I use a natural characteristic of both techniques, the possibility that they will diminish with time, to express something true of our
experience of books. Some leave a more lasting impression than others. There will be those of you who can identify one of my favourite
books through the text I have chosen to emboss. For others of you it will be unfamiliar and to some an impression already faded.
