![]() rejectamenta bookmarks Emma Powell Leicester, England, UK My set of 100 bookmarks is made from a collection of the bookmarks I am currently using. All my bookmarks are bits of ‘rejectamenta’ - anything that has been discarded. In this instance they consist of a paperclip, a Chinese receipt from a friend’s trip, various barcodes, embroidery thread packaging, a section of French lined paper and a bit of dress-making ‘pattern’ paper. I don’t own any ‘proper’ bookmarks - I would only lose them! There are five different bookmark designs and each one has four perforated sections. The idea is that you tear a section off and then use it as a bookmark. You will then be using a bookmark with a bookmark on it. You could even photograph it in-situ and email me a photo… These bookmarks have been created under the umbrella of ‘we love your books’. I am one of three members and amongst other things we put on a yearly ‘open’ exhibition. If you would like to enter our May 2008 exhibition please go to our website for full details : www.weloveyourbooks.com. I am also in the process of studying for a practice-based PhD at Kingston University. My research is all about the use of ‘rejectamenta’. More information about my work can be seen at : www.rejectamenta.com. Contact me via email: emma@rejectamenta.com epowell@dmu.ac.uk www.rejectamenta.com www.weloveyourbooks.com back |
