Book Arts: Dialogues and Languages
ABPP Loan
Drake University, USA

August 25 - September 28, 2008

The purpose of Book Arts: Dialogues and Languages is to familiarize Drake University students with the collaborative process among writers, printmakers, and bookbinders that takes place in the production of fine print books. A cycle of short lectures is planned for the month of September, 2008, and it includes a workshop and demonstrations on the topic of printing, bookmaking, and writing, giving special attention to works written in languages with non-Latin alphabets.

The activities will be accompanied by a display of Book Arts on loan from the collection of the Centre for Fine Print Research in the UK. The series is open to all Drake students and faculty, but the main audience is second language and graphic art students who would benefit from the dialogues with bookmakers and printmakers on the topics of book arts.
Co-ordinated by
Eduardo Garcia.
