'I (heart) Big Words'
Sarah Haxby, UK

A whimsical self-portrait of me as my alter-ego, Peargirl. I produce a biannual zine called Peargirl which
explores my love of words, reading, writing and art. Sesquipedalophobia is the fear or hatred of big words.

I feel that pollysyllabic abstruse, under-used, challenging words are part of the beauty of language and
reading; they are the very spice of literature -unless we continue to challenge our literary palates we
willl end up with a bland and diminished form of communication.
