Bookfair Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow Friday 25th & Saturday 26th April 2008
The event showcased a range of works by local, national and international artists - from fine press editions to zines. Impact Press showed a selection of artists’ books by staff and students at the School of Creative Arts, plus works by Kelly Harcus, Mick McGraw, Frans Baake, Gray Fraser, VSW Press, Productiongray Editions and Wild Conversations Press. We were also interviewing and handing out survey forms for our AHRC-funded project: In an arena that now includes both digital and traditionally produced artists’ books, what will constitute the concepts of artists’ publishing in the future? The project intends to open up responsive exploration with a collaborative, international audience of artists, academics, students, presses, publishers, curators, dealers and collectors. We are conducting an online survey for the project. For more information, or to participate in the online survey, please click here. The Society of Bookbinders ran workshops on both days of the bookfair. The Glasgow International Artists Bookfair was held in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, as part of the Glasgow international Festival of Contemporary Visual Art 2008. www.giab.org.uk back |
