Books Study Area at the Library Faculty of Art, Media and Design, UWE Bristol: Multiples and Small Book Works An exhibition of small book related works and multiples from the collection of the CFPR 10th January – 13th February 2005 For anyone still wanting to amuse themselves after all those holiday board games, there is Mr Acorn a self-assembly figure from Starry Dog, you can also see him at www.starrydog.co.uk/starrypress or Benedict Phillips’s Epidemic card game where you can swap infectious diseases. Perhaps before playing this game it would be wise to blow into Hayvend laboratories Breath Bag or wash your hands with Arno Art’s Innocence soap, just in case. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For cold days we have a pair of Paula Cooper Art Dealer Work Gloves by Bill Burns (Museum of Safety Gear for Small Animals) Burns produced a series of these gloves embroidered with names of well-known art dealers from New York and London. The London series includes a choice, amongst others, of Angela Flowers, Stephen Friedman, Victoria Miro, Theo Waddington and Jay Jopling. There are also Marks and Spencer handkerchiefs sewn with woven ‘byname’ tags from Alec Finlay’s Bynames book; a set of Literary quote tea-towels from the Bristol Art Library, a pair of Glasses of Hope by Marcus Coates and Rudi Bastiaan’s Matters of the Heart boxes. selection of book related sets of badges from : Mark Pawson A Slice of Japan and Airmail badge sets; Harrington and Squire’s H&S Alphabet set; Simon Cutt’s Deaf to Art and Mike Nicholson and Mette Ambeck’s Ron Versus Robots badges. To cure any January blues the display of books includes: Mermaid Turbulence’s Good things or seventy-seven reasons to be still alive today and Lucy May Schofield’s The Remedy. If you feel like getting away from it all, there is Tom Sowden’s London-Bristol Coach Performance Timetable and a copy of Artgoes I-SPY book. Happy New Year! Collotype printed books A display of books from the Library, incorporating the use of collotype printing will also be on display 25th January – 5th February to accompany the 2nd International Collotype Conference on the 2nd & 3rd February 2005.
