| Exhibition loan at Lit
& Phil Newcastle upon Tyne June-July 2010 CFPR loaned artists’ books from the collection for the Artists’ Books Fair, Exhibition and Events organised by Theresa Easton in venues around Newcastle-upon-Tyne over June - July 2010 ![]() June 15th - July 5th Newcastle's Lit & Phil hosted an exhibition of artists' books from the University of West of England’s Centre for Fine Print Research. This collection brings together a broad spectrum of artists’ books including handmade, commercially printed and sculpted paper engineering works. Handmade and printed artists’ books by students from Northumbria University and studio users from, Northern Print were on display throughout the library. The Literary & Philosophical Society (Lit & Phil) is the largest independent library outside London, housing over 150,000 books. Gallery North Artist’s Book Fair, June 26th, University of Northumbria, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, showcased artists working with book arts, small press publishing, comic artists and zines. A programme of events included talks, demonstrations and an exhibition of contemporary at Newcastle’s Literary & Philosophical Society. To coincide with Gallery North Artist's Book Fair, Yvette Hawkins' solo show ' All the books I have never finished' was shown at The Gallery of Wonder, Newcastle University. Tuesday 29th June, Loftus Room, Lit & Phil Mick Wootton, Lecturer in Print at Northumbria University and established artist’s book maker gave a talk on collaborations, the development of artists’ books and current trends in book making Lucy May Schofield worked with Gateshead Council with her Bibliotherapy stall and a community initiative group. back |
