| 17th Mainzer Minipressen
Messe Gutenberg Museum, Mainz, Germany 29 May - 1 June 2003 The Mainzer Minipressen Messe (Small Press Fair) is a specialist artist’s book and small press book fair, originally set up as an alternative to the Frankfurt Book Fair and now renown in its own right. The 'Messe' takes place on a bi-annual basis and is organised and hosted by the Gutenberg Museum. For information and timetables, see www.minipresse.de
We showed faculty publications and artists’ books by students and staff at UWE. Attending the fair gave us the opportunity to show works from Impact Press at the CFPR to a new audience. Whilst we were there, we made new contacts with artists and publishers from Europe and we also had the opportunity to meet Reinhard Gruener, who has a fascinating collection of artists’ books (informatively archived at www.buchkunst.de). Attending the event also brought us new artists’ entries for the 2003-2005 issue of The Artist's Book Yearbook. back |
