Al-Mutanabbi Street Broadsides Exhibitions
and Events The al-Mutanabbi Street Coalition project was created as an arts community response to the car bombing of al-Mutanabbi Street, and has been organising readings and events since April 2007 and fundraising for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). As part of the European tour of the Al-Mutanabbi Street Broadsides, we are showing a selection of the 130 letterpress printed broadsides created for the project, at Bower Ashton Library, UWE Bristol, from 8th December 2010 - 30th January 2011 and at Ink Spot Press, Brighton from 10th December 2010 - 10th January 2011. A special event on Thursday 9th December included readings and an auction of broadsides for Médecins Sans Frontières, in the library from 5pm - 7pm, the event raised £556 for MSF, many thanks to all who attended, and your generous bids and donations! Thank you also to everyone who helped out, Natalie, Paul, Helen, and to Angie and Lilla for their help and their readings.
