Small Publishers Fair We will be exhibiting new books on our Impact Press stand at the Small Publishers Fair on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th November 2009, 11am - 7pm each day, at the Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL. This is an international fair celebrating books by contemporary artists, poets, writers, composers, book designers, and their publishers; together with a programme of readings and talks. With more than 50 publishers taking part there will be thousands of books and other editions to browse and buy! Admission is free to the Fair and readings/events. Organised by RGAP (http://rgap.co.uk) Artist’s Book Surgeries Our last surgery day was a table-top surgery on Saturday 7th November 2009, 12:00 - 18:00 at The Third Manchester Artists’ Book Fair at the Holden Gallery, Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University. Next dates: The next surgery at UWE Bristol, School of Creative Arts is Wednesday 27th January 2010 We have 6 half-hour surgery slots available between 11:00 and 16:00. Labyrint 09 - Writings and Observations, Sweden Sarah, Tom and Genevieve Browne (MA Printmaking) are also showing books and art writing in Labyrint 09 - Writings and Observations “Don’t worry about the form”. This is Botkyrka konsthall’s second international artist’s book exhibition, from November 7th 2009 in Sweden. The project is curated by Joanna Sandell and Pia Sandström, and focuses on artist’s books, artists’ publications, text art, and various aspects of writing in contemporary art. www.labyrintpress.com New Wave exhibition online archive The New Wave exhibition of artists’ books shown at Impact Multi-disciplinary printmaking Conference here in September, is archived for online viewing. Al-Mutanabbi Street Broadsides Many thanks to all the printers who have contributed broadsides for this project organised by the al-Mutanabbi Street Coalition which has been organising readings and other events since April 2007 to fundraise for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). You can see some of the broadside contributions we received to send on, on our exhibitions page, along with instructions on how to take part. ![]() "I've come to feel that wherever someone sits down to read, or where someone takes up their pen and paper to write, it is there that al-Mutanabbi Street starts." - Beau Beausoleil - Founder of the al-Mutanabbi Street Coalition. Bookmarks VII Infiltrating the Library System 2009-2010 is now live with 37 artists contributing 3600 bookmarks from the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA and Australia. Thanks to our summer intern Alice Potter for all her help with the project. The bookmarks are available at 10 venues from 25th September - please visit the Bookmarks VII page to see where they are, and to view the artists’ gallery.
