In an arena that now includes both digital and traditionally produced artists’ books, what will constitute the concepts of artists’ publishing in the future? Over 2008 and 2009 we will be investigating and discussing issues concerning the history and future of the artist’s book. This research project intends to open a debate to an international community of artists, educators, researchers, students, presses, publishers, librarians, curators, dealers, collectors and anyone involved in the field. This project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The AHRC funds postgraduate training and research in the arts and humanities, from archaeology and English literature to design and dance. The quality and range of research supported not only provides social and cultural benefits but also contributes to the economic success of the UK. For further information on the AHRC, please see the website www.ahrc.ac.uk For information on the project, our online survey and seminars programme please click here. One of the books from the Regenerator project snuck back into the Bower Ashton library on the 29th November, and was swiftly put onto the shelves by librarian Sarah Clifford. ![]() Jane Hyslop originally selected a well worn catalogue Selected Scottish Drawings to work on for the Regenerator project in May 07, and after she had finished her original altered book of plants, beautifully drawn over the pages in ink, she scanned the pages to make a facsimile version of the book in an edition of 100. The book was published after the project, digitally printed on Prescia Book and Epson Matt papers. Selected Scottish Drawings, An Altered Book, Selected Facsimile Edition by Jane Hyslop. Copies are available for sale, email j.hyslop@eca.ac.uk for more details.
