Libby Barrett ![]() Book selected: God’s Little Acre I didn’t re-title the book, and in fact left the cover just the way it was. And although I removed most of the pages, I left in the page with the library checkout card because I liked the idea that it was still tied to its former life at Bristol.
![]() I find this book to be a sad statement on the rural American south in the early 20th century. It’s described as being a humorous book, but I found it deeply depressing. I turned this book into a map because it allowed me to add place names like the Valley of Despair, Plane of Desire, and the Field of Broken Dreams, which distilled the emotional tenor of the book for me. email : libbybarrett@verizon.net back |
