Original book title: Coming Down the Seine by Robert Gibbings
I was very taken with the illustrations and wanted to emphasise them without doing too much to them. By cutting away space around them and using a concertina structure, I was aiming to create the sense of a meandering voyage and reflect the way that images build up and overlay each other over the course of a journey.
