I was sent a randomly chosen book that had been withdrawn from the UWE library. I began to alter all of the illustrations in the book by spending many happy hours cutting and sticking on what I considered to be appropriate, ironic or amusing images from
'The Radio Times', the FT 'How to Spend It' and 'Homes and Antiques' magazines. I used scissors and a stick of glue. I also coloured in a few photographs with felt tip pens. Next, I added a very few pieces of arbitrary or interesting (to me) text. After that, I felt I wanted to enhance the literary aspect of the book. So I cut out some quotes that I liked from the FT 'How to Spend It' magazine and glued them on the title page of the book. I then took ages cutting letters out of the same magazine to create the words and glued each consecutive word from my chosen quote in order - one word per page - onto the pages of the book - Phew!
