Cheryl Penn, Durban, South Africa, March 2013 Bombed, burnt books are a difficult topic to address except thought text and image as documentation. This small book turns to the smaller unit of the book – the page, in an attempt to visually portray a crime against books. A small unique book copied 4 times, 11cm wide by 15 cm long. Transgressed pages including burning, cutting, tearing. Cheryl Penn is a lecturer at Durban University of Technology, a curator and a coordinator of numerous book projects. |
