Chris Gibson, London, UK, 2013 Lives & Books is a pocketbook-sized pamphlet with a green cover and pages of almost completely blocked-out text. The remaining text forms a poem that draws parallels between our lives and books. For me it was difficult to comprehend the events of al-Mutanabbi Street having never experienced conflict of this kind, so I wanted instead to touch upon the universality of our experience, using the idea and form of a book to convey this message.
