Hello, my name is Zoe Element and I am a textiles student studying in Cardiff. In June I had a realisation that my life isn't going to pan out the way I had been dreaming that it would. I have come to realise that if I want to continue with my own practice, (which I do!) I must also have a day job. Perhaps it could be related to the arts world, or perhaps not, either way I decided to make bookmarks based around this home truth.

I bought together all the things I am passionate about, colour, making patterns, architecture, stitch and paper folding to really show you what I'm all about. My work, as of late, seems to evolve into a narrative that opens up my world of anxiety, it has taken a little while for me to realise that there are many more people in my position, being brave and talking about negative parts in your life is just as important as talking about the positives. This is a notion I hope that will continue in my practice and maybe free others along the way.
