Completed studio projects generate leftovers including parts of dust jackets from discards. I saved business envelopes I got in the mail and used the lining patterns
like book cloth. Envelope windows turned into pockets reminiscent of the ones we used to have for checkout cards. The maps came from a tattered donation:
a 362-page spiral-bound street atlas for Los Angeles. I finally figured out how to embed the magnets to make the satisfying THWACK I was after (like closing a
hardbound book with one hand). Then I put on the stack of CDs a good friend mixed and gifted to me over years and just kept making bookmarks until I got to 100.
