Genealogy, social history, textiles and printmaking come together to capture for a brief moment the life of Sarah,
my great, great grandmother. Hard to find, the facts are pieced together and recorded… but it's fragile… the
more the bookmark is used, the more it fades and frays, and Sarah's story once more disappears into fragments.

These bookmarks are part of a series which includes wall pieces and artist's books. All use cyanotype print on
muslin, and all concern the piecing together of information (from family history & stories and also the craft of stitch & sewing). Information and skills that are hard to acquire and are at risk of fading away and disappearing once more.
