This poem was inspired by the abstract writings of Gertrude Stein. Each line is a quote from the messages on old and discarded postcards which have made it into my 2,000 strong collection. Taken out of their original context the phrases make up an amusing and playful piece of writing. These bookmarks are one in a series of tribute works.
I felt bookmarks were a fitting medium on which to screen print this poem; I wonder if one of them will find its way into one of Stein's Books.
