[Inside Out - Outside In]
A series of ten etching plates, inspired by ten commissioned pavilions built outside the Serpentine Gallery, London, lead to a series of site-specific artist book installations in alternate sites. The first was re-created on a different scale and configuration at the Power of Ten exhibition inside the Museum in the Park (MIP), Stroud for the Stroud International Textile Festival.
It incorporated plans of a new pavilion, built within the Walled Garden Project, outside the MIP and combined architectural drawings of my house in Redhill, Surrey. The second series was designed for Pressing Identities at the West Yorkshire Printworks combining the gallery floor-plans and surrounding road maps.
These 100 variable bookmarks signify the interruptions, pauses during reading that allow the mind to wander outside the page and resume reading within the page.
The artist's book trilogy of this series was awarded the Incline Press-Dave Godin Award at the Society of Bookbinders Conference & Competition 2015
