Claire Robinson

Claire hand screenprints all her own limited editions prints in her south London studio. Her screenprinting process is very organic, printing over again and again on assorted materials, using whatever is on the screen at the time, until eventually a story emerges, and when it does the process is complete. If not they go back into the draw until further printing finishes its journey.

This keeps the work fresh, as she never knows where the piece will take her or what stories will be revealed and can take 2/3 years to complete. Her inspiration comes from photography, poetry, the seasons, and colour.

Claire incorporates different techniques to keep things interesting and to continually learn, including diamond dust, flocking, book art, collage, mixed media and now encaustic wax on Japanese paper which adds a translucency to the work which is very exciting and has endless possibilities.
