For the bookmarks 13 project I took my everyday life with a toddler as a starting point for my reflections. Living with a child that age is great and fun, but does not leave a lot of room for oneself and sometimes it can seem like the same day over and over again.
Reflecting on this, I remembered that over the last few years my husband and I had taken several photos out of our living room window, just random pictures of moments that we wanted to capture now and then - not in a distinct pattern like the man in in Paul Auster’s ‘Smoke’. When I collected them together I noticed that there is so much difference and also change in them, although they always show the same view. A perfect picture for my situation! The bookmarks' fronts show those views, and on the back added fragments of an artist mum's attempt to encourage her toddler boy with some first printing experiments. Wrapped around those two sides are pieces of the annual Leipzig Book Fair and the Reading Festival programme, which are two of my highlights every year.
