We had a long warm spring on the prairies this year and my thoughts were focused on the plight of our honey bees. I declared a moratorium on the destruction of our dandelions. Dandelions are the first to bloom in our yard and I felt the need to protect them. This enabled the honey bees to have early blossoms to feast on.
I created my bookmarks by making wheat paste papers (appropriate since I live in the wheat belt of Canada), clear embossed bees, and white ink stamped bees. The images of the bees are purposely made to disappear on the paper to reflect the disappearance of our honey bees.
