A wonderful exhibition of artists’ books by Nancy Campbell on the stage included a chance for the public to play Campbell’s Astonishing Polar Tombola, where a Greenlandic word is chosen from any icy-looking receptacle, and exchanged for a word in English. You promise to learn the Greenlandic word and to no longer use the English one you have chosen to abandon. This one: ‘aqago’, selected by Sarah means ‘tomorrow’. Nancy Campbell was recently described by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy as ‘a deft, dangerous and dazzling new poet writing from the furthest reaches of both history and climate change’. Nancy also read from her new collection of Arctic poems, Disko Bay.

We showed the new Artist’s Book Yearbook, The Blue Notebook journal and artists’ books by Tom Sowden, Charlotte Hall, Guy Bigland, HG Makes, CTL Presse, Frans Baake, Angie Butler, Deborah Stevenson, Corinne Welch and Sarah Bodman.
